FAQs

When is the submission deadline?

All required nomination materials for the 2010 Kanter Prize must be received by HELP by Friday, April 30, 2010. The nomination submission deadline for the 2011 Kanter Prize will be announced in February 2011.

Where and how should nomination materials be submitted?

Nomination materials may be submitted via mail, fax, or email:
Health Legacy Partnership

Hollywood, FL 33020
Fax - 954-921-1405
Email - kanterprize@healthlegacy.org

How will I know if my nomination materials were received?

All medical associations submitting a nomination packet will receive an email confirmation of receipt. If the nomination packet is incomplete, they will be requested in the email. Only complete nomination packets will be considered

Can we submit a joint nominee?

Yes. HELP welcomes joint nominations between the medical associations. For example, the Arizona Medical Association and the Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association may choose to submit a “joint nominee” from their state or region resulting in only one physician from the state of Arizona to represent both organizations as their official Kanter Prize nominee.

Who chooses the winner of the Kanter Prize?

The Kanter Prize Selection Committee consists of distinguished physicians and scholars, both from clinical and academic environments, who are knowledgeable in the field of healthcare disparities. The disclosure of the nominees, finalist, and selection committee judges for the Kanter Prize will be at the sole discretion of the Health Legacy Partnership and the Joseph H. Kanter Family Foundation.

Can an individual be nominated posthumously?

No. The Kanter Prize cannot be awarded posthumously unless the death occurred after the submission deadline for the following year’s award.
